16% of American kids are getting obese and are getting sickness’ like asthma, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high-blood sugar, heart disease and cancer because they are so obese. This is becoming one of the biggest problems in America because so many kids are dying each year. Kids are also not getting enough exercise so they get obese and out of shape. I want this generation to get more exercise, eat healthier, and get back into shape.
McDonalds was sued for 1.6 million dollars for advertising to kids and I think they did that because McDonalds is one of the main reasons that kids are getting obese because they serve so many unhealthy foods. Also restaurants are lowering prices on unhealthy foods and raising prices on healthy foods. I think that’s just not fair because one of my goals is to get healthy foods available to families in addition studies show that if you are obese in your childhood then you will most likely be obese in your adulthood and that is a horrible life to live.
Ms. Obama is planting gardens all over the U.S to give children more nutrition and get active and kids also helped plant the garden. Restaurants have decided to lower healthy food prices because they found out that the kids are dying because of the unhealthy foods.
Ms. Obama was sick and tired of kids being obese and out of shape so she created a Let’s Move campaign and for example Play 60 is part of Let’s Move. Play 60 is a program that lets kids meet with professional athletes and run around and that is really helping and in addition causing less body problems for kids. The Mayo clinic is another community trying to stop obesity and the Mayo clinic is an organization that is very famous and is a very helpful hospital. The Mayo clinic is helping because when the patients come in the Mayo clinic gives them really important advice and they tell their friends and they donate money to charity. In fact they are the charity.

Studies show that kids should eat 5 servings of fruit and veggies a day because fruits and veggies have the proper nutrients that will keep kids fit and not obese, in addition kids should have 3 healthy meals a day because kids bodies are growing and if there is not enough food in their body then they will not grow. We just need to stop it there is nothing ok with being obese and dying and If you are a kid or parent listening to this you need to either stop eating junk food or encourage kids to stop eating junk food.
